Above and Beyond College and Career Ministry is in its formative stages. God is leading Above and Beyond to be franchised, impacting the 20s something generation that some have called “The lost generation.” This is the age that is looking for world impacting significance. This is the age that wants to make a difference with their lives. This is the age that can make a difference. There is an adventure to live, and Above and Beyond is called to inspire College and Career to see the crucial role each one has to see and seize the God ordained opportunities all around us.

The couples division is divided into several classes to accommodate all couples of any age. There is a nursery available for babies and toddlers, as well as Sunday School programs for older children so that couples can enjoy the time in their own classes. Our Sunday School teachers teach the word of God in truth and also show how it is relevant to everyday life. The opportunity is given for couples to discuss their own situations and circumstances relating to the current topic, and this allows everybody to learn from each other. In effect, the couples grow together through the help and support of their classmates. The couples discover how to develop a friendship with our Lord Jesus, how to grow closer to their spouse, and also how to cope with real-life problems. We also cultivate friendships outside of the classroom with various activities such as cook-outs, "Honeymooners’ Night Out," and Christmas parties.
Bible study classes for men at HPBC are designed around Biblical principles concerning personal fulfillment, marriage, and family. Men participate in activities such as golf tournaments, men’s breakfasts, and Father’s Day cookouts and men’s conferences. Interested in becoming a deacon? Every year, the church nominates deacons to serve in various areas of ministry. The nominee then meets with a committee to discuss the role of being a deacon. The ministry of a deacon is one ordained by God in the New Testament.
The Ladies Bible Study begins every semester with a new series, such as Beth Moore’s book, Esther. This is a great tool to study the Bible in a small-group setting. Small groups are an important part of the Women’s Ministry – several Sunday School classes meet on Sunday mornings for Bible study. We’d love for you to come and be a part, whether you’re looking for friendship and fun or a place to grow in the Word of God.
The Women’s Ministry at Highland Park is full of fun and laughter as we build relationships with each other and with God. The Ladies' Retreat is a fun time to get away every year and really get to know each other better. One of the ladies’ favorite activities is the Christmas Tea, where each hostess decorates her table and serves afternoon tea – English style. And the Mother’s Day Breakfast is always a special time to celebrate the moms in the congregation.
The Young at Heart is an active group of seniors who love the Lord and love fellowshipping together around good home-cooked food! Every month, they have a potluck-style luncheon, which varies in theme from the famous "Souper Bowl" contest held during football season to the holiday favorites like Christmas and Thanksgiving. They also take regular trips to the Cumberland County Playhouse and various other activities around the city, such as a breakfast cruise on the Southern Belle or concert with the Chattanooga Symphony and Orchestra. The seniors at HPBC are truly "young at heart."
