Dr. David E. Bouler

Dr. Bouler was born in Mobile, Alabama, the oldest of four boys in his family. After graduation from Murphy High School in 1964, he joined the US Marines and served four years, with one year in Vietnam. After his service in the Marines, he attended the University of Montevala. He felt God’s call to the ministry and transferred to Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, where he graduated with a B.A. in Bible and Pastoral Studies.

He met his wife Sue at Asbury and returned to Alabama, the city of Montgomery, where he pastored for more than 20 years, establishing the largest and fastest growing Independent Baptist Church in the state. Their children, Stephanie, Eric, and Gordie, all grew up in Montgomery. Dr. and Mrs. Bouler are now the proud grandparents of six!

During these years of growing a large church, he continued his educational training with a Master’s Degree in Theology from American Theological Seminary, a Doctor of Ministries from Luther Rice Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Trinity Theological Seminary. He accepted the call as pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga in August of 1991, following the 40-year leadership of Dr. Lee Roberson.

Dr. Danny Lovett

Born on December 15, 1953, in Sylvester, Georgia, Danny was reared in a small community by parents and grandparents. He loved sports and lettered in football, basketball, and baseball every year of high school. God used the prayers and godly influence of his grandparents and the persistence of a local youth pastor to bring him to salvation through Christ at age 15.

Dr. Lovett is a graduate of Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, was pastor of Open Door Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama until 1996. He was appointed Dean of Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary until the Lord moved him to Chattanooga as President of TTU in 2005. He is so excited about the opportunity to see God rebuild one of the greatest Christian universities in the world. Dr. Lovett’s vision for TTU is to become a training center for the next generation of preachers, missionaries, business people and Christian educators all over the world. His philosophy remains to find out where God wants you and dig in. He has now dug in as TTU’s President.

In November of 2008, Dr. Lovett was voted as co-pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church, where he now serves alongside Dr. David Bouler. Dr. Lovett and his wife Susan have three children, Eric, Mary and Stephanie.
